Bill Jetton
Founder
Bill grew up in a small town on the gulf coast of Texas. He earned his BA in economics from the University of Houston in 1973. Shortly after graduation Bill left for California and began apprenticing with a master builder in Mendocino, where all of his pursuits were off-grid. Projects included traditional water towers with Aermotor windmills for pumping, barn restorations, a 250 ft. pedestrian suspension bridge, and other alternative energy systems such as small-scale hydroelectric and wind. In 1985 as part of the Bay Area Construction Brigade, Bill helped construct housing and a hydroelectric system for a coffee and dairy collective in Nicaragua. In the mid-1980s Jetton Construction moved from Mendocino to Berkeley and began its focus on remodeling and new construction in the Bay Area.
