Bernal Heights Evolution
This Bernal Heights home was transformed into a highly customized, sculptural piece of architecture. A full structural and mechanical rebuild with new automated system controls – including an acoustically sealed home theater – fit this home precisely to its inhabitants. The eclectic finishes include bronze siding, steel doors and windows, custom plaster, stone slab flooring with brass inlay, Henrybuilt and custom casework, and extensive interior and exterior metalwork. On the grounds, reclaimed San Francisco curbstones become benches and stairs, stacked limestone slabs create vertical planting pockets, and the client's tile collection can be found inlaid in a custom concrete bench.
